Aliens Versus Predator

The very first time I saw this game in action at a store, I knew I had to have this game. The intense atmosphere of Aliens Versus Predator is what this game is all about.

When this game first came out, many were disappointed to find out that this game was nothing like Half-Life. People were looking for 'another' Half-Life, not another Quake 2. But what they didn't take into account was AvP's commitment to "atmosphere". AvP manages to excel above the rest of the competition, creating a perfect 3 in 1 package, the ability to play 3 different races - therefore, 3 different games.

Gameplay is top of the line. Playing as the Marine, you are extremely vulnerable, and only quick reflexes and a quick trigger finger will ensure your survival. As the Predator, you take charge of the most high-tech weaponry in the game, but all things play a price. With the Predator, you need energy to use these weapons. As the Alien, if you ever wanted to move at a lightning speed and mow down your opponents, this is the game for you. However, even the Alien is vulnerable to the Predator and Marine's weaponry.

Sound only enhances this experience to ensure utter terror into even the most experienced players.

AvP's graphics are also almost as beautiful as Unreal's and their use of creating the spooky atmosphere with lights flashing on and off, and darkness hugging every corner just makes this game perfect. Even I came out of the game with my mouse covered in sweat.

In conclusion, this is a beautiful game, and for anyone who loved Half-Life, Quake 2, and Unreal, this is the most intense shooter I ever played, and believe me - you won't be disappointed.
